Aluminum fin stock for heat exchangers
Aluminum strip 0.0039 to 0.010 in thick, in alloys 1100 and 7072, for making heat exchanger fins. Widths from 1 to 48 in, with the temper and flatness a high-speed fin press requires.
Fin stock is aluminum rolled to a few thousandths of an inch, used to make the flat or corrugated fins of evaporators, condensers, radiators and coils, where aluminum's thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance make the difference.

What it is used for
- Air conditioning evaporator and condenser fins
- Automotive radiators and coolers
- Commercial and industrial refrigeration coils
- Heat shields
- Heater and ventilation heat exchangers
Industries that use it: Automotive and transportation, HVAC and refrigeration.
What we need to quote
- Alloy (1100 or 7072) and temper
- Thickness and tolerance
- Strip width and inside diameter
- Fin press speed and fin type
- Monthly volume

Why buy it from the mill
Fin stock is the product where consistency matters most: a gauge variation breaks the fin and stops the line. Almexa rolls it from its own strip with in-line gauge control.
Alloy 7072 provides cathodic protection to the exchanger tube; 1100 provides conductivity. We tell you which fits your refrigerant and operating environment.
Applicable quality systems
- ISO 9001
- IATF 16949 for automotive radiators
- Mill test report per lot
Frequently asked questions
What is aluminum fin stock?
Aluminum rolled to 0.0039 to 0.010 in, in coil, from which heat exchanger fins are stamped and corrugated: evaporators, condensers, radiators and coils.
When should 7072 be used instead of 1100 for fins?
When the exchanger works in corrosive environments or with tubes of another metal: 7072, with zinc, acts as a sacrificial anode and protects the tube. 1100 is used when conductivity matters most and the environment is benign.
Can fin thickness be reduced without losing strength?
Within limits, yes: with a harder temper and flatness control, gauge and exchanger weight come down. It is tuned with the fin press in mind; the sales executive reviews it with you.
